This month’s Employee Spotlight centers on Quin O. Quin works at the Fluid Truck Headquarters in Denver, CO as a Telematics Administrator. What does that mean? Keep reading to find out!

What does it mean to be a Telematics Administrator?

Every vehicle on the platform requires telematics. So I help administer all the development and installation of the telematics systems. Designing, building, troubleshooting issues, testing new systems, and making sure they get into all of our vehicles. Fluid Truck lieutenants install the actual hardware into the vehicles, but everything else is handled by us. I've also been assisting with our EV charging projects!

What’s your favorite part of your job?

The people I get to work with!

When you aren’t working, what are you usually doing?

Climbing for sure! I also love live music and going to concerts. In the winter I snowboard, and I run. I ran a marathon last year!

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Try to find a way to have fun with whatever you're doing with your job. That's super important to me. I like having fun in life. If you're working 5 days a week and not having fun, that sounds like a bad time. And, always be striving for growth.

Another piece of advice: if someone at your company asks if you want to do something, the answer is always yes - no matter what it is. Like projects and stuff, even if it’s not technically in your job description. That's helped me a lot - just saying YES

If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would it be?

Records - like vinyl. No particular genre, I'd just be interested to go through and play stuff I don't know.

If you had a TED Talk, what would it be about?
Why international travel, especially to less-developed countries, is important for everyone to experience.

Do you have a favorite snack?

Gardettos. I don't snack too much, but probably those things.

What would you tell someone who wants to come work at Fluid Truck?

It's a really accepting environment. Great people, people value hard work, and that's it. If you work hard, that's really all people care about. For me it's a great place to work for that reason.

Want to work somewhere where you can be yourself, and be surrounded by other hard-working folks? You’re in luck – we’re hiring! Click here to check out open positions at Fluid Truck.
