Tell us more about what you do for Fluid Truck

Field Relief Coordinator - I am responsible for going out to markets around the country and training new hires. Part of my responsibility is to go and evaluate markets and see with my own eyes what may make it not run efficiently, then take the steps to get their performance up. If someone's out on vacation or we lose someone, I go and fill in that spot until we find someone to fill in or they come back.

When you aren’t working, what are you doing?

I'm a very outgoing, outdoorsy person. If I'm not playing golf, I'll play disc golf or go fishing. Anything outdoors or competitive.

Do you support any sports teams?

Anything Dallas! Stars, Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Mavericks. I was born in Seattle, so I support some of the Seattle teams in a quieter style too.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I like problems, I like resolving problems. I've always been a person that likes processes and systems. I like to figure out how to make things quicker and better without sacrificing quality. I’ve been given the chance to make a difference and that's amazing to me!

And of course, working with Jen. [He’s referring to Jen G., our Head of Fleet Management who is in the room during the interview!]

Do you have any secret talents?

Have you met me? I'm full of special talents! I don't know if it's special, but I can communicate and relate with people on a level where generally, everyone seems to get along with me. No matter who it is or where they’re from. Everyone gets along with me. Also I play the saxophone!

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Complacency is the worst thing in life. If you get complacent, you're okay with where you're at, and that’s never good. There's always room for improvement.

What’s your favorite movie quote?

You’re killin’ me Smalls! I’m a movie quoter. I talk in movie quotes.

If you were to have a TED Talk, what would it be about?

Probably about being effectively efficient. Like when you start into a new role, you can't expect to come in and be amazing. So, the knowledge you have to gain takes experience and time and reps. But once you learn the system, how do you improve it every single day without sacrificing quality.

If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would it be?

$100 bills! Or nice soft walls that I could bounce around on. But preferably the $100 bills.

What’s your favorite snack?

Anything that's sour and chewy and gummy and candy. I'm a fiend for sour patch kids.

If someone asked you why they should work at Fluid, what would you tell them?

If you're looking to find a place that you're trying to build a legacy on, this is for you. Fluid Truck is a place where you feel welcome by everyone. We're a great work family. You have the ability to voice your opinion without it being tossed aside, or being told to stay in your lane. We're a tight knit group, we have each other’s backs. I've worked for a lot of companies - the culture and processes we're building here are amazing. The love we have is amazing. It's building something to leave behind. It's one of the best places i've worked.
