First up: Meet James Rimmer

James Rimmer is our Real Estate Acquisitions Coordinator. He’s based in Denver, Colorado - Fluid’s HQ - and lives with his girlfriend and two adorable dogs.

What do you do when you’re not working?

“I have two dogs, Frank and Oliver, they're pretty cute and I spend a lot of time with them. In college my go-to fun fact is that I took 2 years off from school to do car racing with Red Bull. That was really cool. I got to travel all around and do a bunch of races which was an incredible experience. I guess you could say that my cars are my outside-of-work passion.”

Favorite sports teams?

“Seahawks! Oh, and I tried to be a walk-on for DU once. I failed.... But still a fan.

I'm also a basketball fan, but the sport I follow the most is Formula One.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?

“Being able to be involved in all of the different parts of Fluid on a daily basis. A lot of people have to stay siloed in their departments at a job, but that doesn't exist at Fluid, which is awesome.”

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

“Being involved with something that you have a passion for is what you should be looking for in a job. I didn't have that before Fluid, and I'm happy I do now. I can see a path forward and feel like I'm a contributing part of the company moving forward.”

If you were to give a TED Talk, what would it be about?

“Definitely the mental aspects of professional F1 driving. I spent a lot of time with mental coaches when I was racing and learned so much about the importance of visualization and certain aspects of mindfulness/meditation. To have a holistically sound top level open wheel driver there has to be this mesh of the physical side of the driving and the mental side to create a complete driver if that makes sense.”

Favorite snack?

“Blue Chex Mix - the original kind.”

I know the brown toast pieces in Chex Mix are controversial - what are your thoughts?

“The best pieces were the little white toasts, but they don’t make those anymore.”

If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would it be?

“Oreos! Because they’re my favorite.”
