What do you do at Fluid Truck?
I am a Regional Account Manager - I try to keep our current customers happy and help them grow. Whatever that means! I’m always trying to create a better experience for our customers that continue to trust us with their business. It's helping people grow their fleets with us, building trust, and understanding that we continue to be a solution for you.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
It's gotta be, whenever I actually feel like I helped a customer. I like to do the right thing for the customer and put the customer first. I think it's served me well. I love when we help small businesses grow. When I took over my region, one customer had 3 long-term rentals with us, and I think they have 9 or 10 vans now. Whenever I get a text from him saying, "let's grow!" that feels good. It's fun to have that connection.
When you aren’t working, what are you usually doing?
When the weather's good I love to go out and golf. I enjoy my video games too –– I play a little everything. Anything that keeps my brain occupied, thinking strategically. It keeps me busy!
Every now and then I'll get some reading in, when my wife finds a good series I'll follow along with her -- I like to talk to her about her books. And I recently found my way to BookTok by accident. If college football is on, we tailgate. It's a great Saturday.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
"Show up, at the right place at the right time with the right attitude, and you'll go far." I learned that in the Army, and that's served me well. Also, never say “that’s not my job.” Learn everything you can about everyone's job, so that if something bad happens, you know how to do that.
If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would it be?
Golf balls ! I'd be set for life!
What’s your favorite snack?
Italian cured meats. I love prosciutto, salamis, and different ham. And cheese. I’m a big ham and cheese guy.
What motivates you at work?
I truly do love helping our smaller business customers. When I get to help them out, it really makes me happy.
If you had a TED Talk, what would it be about?
If I were to do a TED talk, I'd probably talk about giving people grace and not assuming intent behind people's actions. I think a lot of times we assume hostility, or that maybe someone is out to get us. In reality, most likely nobody meant to rub you the wrong way. People need people to give them grace, and I think the world would be a better place if everyone did that.
Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Chocolate truffles. I don't care if it's Lindor or Ferrero Rocher or any chocolate candies. I love ‘em.
What would you tell someone who wants to come work at Fluid Truck?
I think there's a lot of opportunity to grow in your role here. I started out as a business development rep, and here we are a year and a half later to where I'm managing a whole territory. It's been tough, and it requires a lot, but it’s rewarding.
