This month’s Employee Spotlight centers on Light M. Light is our Onboarding and Training Coordinator and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

The best thing about Fluid Truck is the people who work here. I love getting to meet everyone and hearing about their experiences and what they’ve done throughout their lives. I think it’s super interesting. Because I’m in charge of training the newbies, I get to meet everyone here and it’s so much fun.

What motivates you at work?

My team motivates me. We have a great relationship and we push each other to be the best people we can be at Fluid. We’re always working on improving our training plans and figuring out new ways to do things.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

When I first started here at Fluid, I wasn’t very good with change. Being a startup, change is constant here and I struggled with that. But it’s the main focus I have right now — to be able to flow with the changes and be able to adapt and work through them instead of blocking myself.

Where can we find you when the work day is done?

I do so many things. I’m a journalist, a bartender, and a makeup artist. Outside of work, I watch a lot of shows. I’m obsessed with too many shows to keep track.

What’s the worst job you ever had?

I used to bartend at a nightclub. Even though it was fun at first, once you’re the only sober person in a room, the fun starts to wane. I enjoyed the people I worked with, but once I quit I was so thankful. I didn’t want to step foot in a nightclub ever again – I didn’t go out for a year.

What’s your superpower of choice?

I’d love to read people’s minds. I want to know everything about everyone. I’m really into celebrity gossip and so reading their minds would be so fun because you could find everything out!

If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive) who would you invite?

I’d choose Cher, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jane Austen. Cher is the ultimate drag queen, Jennifer Coolidge is just so funny, and Jane Austen because I read all her novels and I love her.

If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would you choose?

I didn’t even have to think about this one. I’d want a Fluid Truck full of makeup! I’m a makeup artist and here in Argentina we don’t have access to all the makeup that’s available in the U.S. I’d go to Sephora, fill up the truck, and drive it back.

What would you tell someone who wants to come work at Fluid Truck?

This place is FUN! I always tell new hires that it’s going to be intense but if you want to, you can have the best time possible. This is the most fun job I’ve ever had and the people here are amazing.
