This month’s Employee Spotlight centers on Joseph S. Joe is a Senior Accountant on the Finance team based at our HQ in Denver.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is the people I work with and the daily challenges we face and solve together. It’s very rewarding, and I really can’t ever complain about the job.

What motivates you at work?

I get a lot of motivation from the people around me. We have a lot of fun and we’re always joking around, but then we also get right down to business together.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to work as hard as you can and support the people above you to the best of your ability.

If you could have a Fluid Truck full of anything, what would it be?

A huge amount of Reese’s. I love them.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to skateboard and snowboard. I love spending time with my dog going on hikes.

What’s something interesting about your background that we should know?

I’m pretty serious and focused at work, but outside of work I love going to improv to let loose. Working with numbers all day can be a little daunting so I have to brush that off and do something not too serious.

Do you have any secret talents?

I have my pilots license so I can fly a single-engine airplane. I got it when I was going into college, but I haven’t flown in a while.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

The worst job I ever had was as a cook at a Japanese steakhouse. You would have to clean the vents above the stove and it was so dirty and greasy and I felt like my whole body was full of grease after cleaning. I did get to take home a lot of food though.

Do you have any unique family traditions?

My family goes rabbit hunting on Thanksgiving — pretty weird. We do it back in North Carolina where I’m from.

If you could have dinner with three people (dead or alive) who would you invite?

I’d probably pick Elon Musk, Mark Cuban, and Joe Rogan. Hibachi all the way.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

I love going to see live music. I went to the Odesza concert recently and it was probably the best show I’ve ever been to.

What would you tell someone who wants to come work at Fluid Truck?

I’d just say to stay positive and trust the process. It’s not an overnight thing but we’re trying to accomplish a huge goal and you just have to stay focused.
