  1. Honorable Mention: Frozen Dead Guy Days – Dates TBD –– Nederland, CO

What kind of Denver startup would we be if we didn’t mention a Colorado festival? If you’re from Colorado, you probably know the backstory of this funky festival. Bredo Morstøl’s body was found in a “Tuff Shed” in Nederland, Colorado. The hope was that the Norwegian grandpa could one day be revived by cryogenic technology in America. Unfortunately, his grandson was unable to revive him. This led to the Frozen Dead Guy Days!

The festival has been around for 20 years, and includes chilling activities like coffin races, a polar ice plunge, and more. It's a celebration that embraces the unconventional and has become a beloved part of Nederland's cultural identity.
