This month’s Employee Spotlight centers on Fluid Truck’s Baltimore/DC Sales Manager, Nacole! Nacole is kind and funny and a fantastic force on the Fluid Truck team. Keep reading to learn more about what it’s like to hustle at one of the best places to work in Colorado.
When you aren’t working, what are you usually doing?

Relaxing! Napping, or binge watching something on Netflix. When I’m working I miss out on a lot of shows! I do stuff with my kids – I’m definitely family oriented. Just doing little quirky stuff – walks, going to the park. If the weather changes we’ll be able to do more. When it’s cold I’m not outdoorsy.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love building relationships with people and keeping & maintaining those relationships that turn into friendships.
Do you have any secret talents?
Well if I told you it wouldn’t be a secret!
I have the innate ability to draw people in, and they end up divulging everything to me. I’m a secret keeper.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Some of the best career advice I’ve ever received is something I got when I was in management. I don’t know if it was the BEST, but it stood out: “if you can’t change the people, change the people.” That can relate to anything, whether you’re at work or it’s your personal life. If you’re unhappy with your situation, and those individuals don’t change to make it better, then you must change the people that you spend time with. Change the group, change your surroundings so that you can elevate yourself and be where you need to be.
Do you have a favorite line from a movie or book?
“Until you do right by me, everything you think about is going to crumble.” – Celie in The Color Purple.
It’s like karma. If you can talk to someone and change their life, it can do wonders. He [Mister in The Color Purple] really had her in a gel, and that’s just how it was for a lot of people. People get stuck. Celie got free. not everybody has that courage to break free.
If you had a TED Talk, what would it be about?
I would call it “The Truth,” and it would be about getting the buy-in as you’re building relationships. Most people buy from you because they trust you, and they trust what you’re saying. They trust that you’re going to give them this great product that you talk about. My TED Talk would be giving an explanation for how essential it is to build good relationships in order to get the buy-in. Not even just with customers, but in life.
If you could have a Fluid Truck full of one thing, what would it be?
Hopes and dreams! [Nacole laughs her infectious laugh]
Or, if it’s a physical thing, $100 bills.
What’s your favorite snack?
It changes from time to time, but right now I like the mango sorbet from Haagen Dazs.
Why would you tell someone to come work at Fluid Truck?
I would tell them it’s a small-knit family. And if you want to work for a place where everyone knows your name, and it doesn’t matter what department you’re in, everyone is interactive. It’s not, “i wear this pin and you wear that pin,” Everyone is super inclusive.
